Fantasy female names
Fantasy names usually blend soft vowels with one sharp consonant, and many end in -a, -ia, -wyn or -iel. Original examples from the generator: Elowyn, Seraphine, Kaelith, Mirriel, Thessaly, Ysolde, Aeryn Vale, Lirien Ashdown. Keep the spelling readable: one apostrophe or rare letter is enough.
Sci-fi names often feel short and clipped or come with a code: Nyx-7, Calla Voss, Juno Reyes, Tessa Arc.
Anime girl names
Anime style gives Japanese female names with kanji meanings, like 雫 Shizuku (droplet), 奏 Kanade (to play music) and 瑠璃 Ruri (lapis lazuli). For many more, see anime names with meanings and Japanese names for girls.

Tips for naming a female character
Match the era. A woman born in 1950 is more likely to be Linda or Patricia than Aria.
Think about nicknames. Elizabeth can be Liz, Beth, Ellie or Betsy, and each says something different.
Avoid look-alike names in the same story (Mia and Maya, Emma and Ella).
Use meaning lightly for main characters only.
