How names work in Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer is set in the Taisho era (1912-1926), so most names are older Japanese names, not modern ones. The family names are what make the series feel special. Many are rare or invented, and their kanji often hint at the character:

Our demon slayer last name generator follows the same idea. It joins two or three kanji that match the breathing style you get, so a Water user might be 水城 Mizushiro (“water castle”) and a Thunder user 雷堂 Raido (“thunder hall”). The given names come from classic names that were common a century ago, such as Kichiro, Tomekichi, Haru, Fusa and Chiyo.

Every slayer uses a Breathing Style. All of them trace back to Sun Breathing, and the five main styles branched into the rest. Our demon slayer breathing style name generator picks one and invents a new form name in the same pattern as the series (“First Form: …”).

Ranks: from Mizunoto to Hashira
The Demon Slayer Corps has ten ranks named after the ten Heavenly Stems, from lowest to highest: Mizunoto, Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto and Kinoe. Above them are the Hashira, the Corps’ strongest swordsmen, each named after their breathing style (Water Hashira, Flame Hashira and so on).

Tips for a believable Demon Slayer OC
Match the name to the style. A water kanji on a Flame user feels off unless it is a deliberate contrast.
Give the blade a colour that fits. Nichirin blades change colour for each user; water users tend to blue, flame users to red.
Keep it Taisho. Avoid very modern names like Riku or Yuna for a slayer from 1915.
Give your OC a reason. Most slayers join after losing family to a demon. One line of backstory makes the card come alive.
Check the name. Search it once so it does not match a canon character.
