How to use the JJK OC generator

Pick a role. Sorcerer, curse user or cursed spirit.
Choose a family or leave it random. Great-family styles add clan rules and pressure to your backstory.
Pick a technique theme if you have an idea, or stay random.
Generate. You get a full OC card with a technique and, if you want, a domain.
Re-roll parts. Lock the name and re-roll only the technique, or the reverse.

How names work in Jujutsu Kaisen

JJK names mix normal Japanese given names with surnames that often hint at the character’s power or role. A few examples of how the kanji line up:

Our generator uses the same trick for jujutsu kaisen OC name ideas: the surname takes one kanji from your technique theme (blood, thread, bell, mirror) and one place-word (river, field, slope, cape). A thread technique might give 糸坂 Itosaka (“thread slope”), a sound technique 鈴木-style 鈴原 Suzuhara (“bell field”).

Cursed technique generator: what makes a good technique

In JJK, a cursed technique is an innate ability powered by cursed energy. Good ones have three parts, and the tool builds all three:

A clear rule. “Anything the user marks with a seal can be swapped with them.”
A cost or weakness. “Each swap drains energy; three in a row leave the user stunned.”
Room to grow. “An extension lets the user swap two marked objects without touching them.”

The series also uses binding vows (self-imposed limits that raise power) and techniques passed down in families. Turn on Family mode to get an inherited technique and a family rule for your backstory.

How to design a JJK cursed technique: rule, cost and extension

Domain expansion name generator

A domain expansion traps opponents inside a space built from the user’s technique, where its attacks are sure to hit. In the series, domain names are usually four or five kanji that sound like temples, sutras or Buddhist ideas, and an English translation is shown in subtitles.

Our domain expansion name generator follows that style. Sample outputs:

JJK domain expansion name examples in kanji and English

Grades, schools and families

Sorcerers and curses are graded from Grade 4 up to Grade 1, with Special Grade above them. Students train at Tokyo Jujutsu High or Kyoto Jujutsu High. The three great families are the Gojo, Zen’in and Kamo clans. The generator assigns a starting grade that fits your technique, so a domain user will not start at Grade 4.

What’s new in JJK (October 2026)

Season 3, The Culling Game Part 1, aired from January 9 to March 27, 2026. Season 4, The Culling Game Part 2, has been announced but does not have a release date yet. The Culling Game arc is a battle royale with points and rule changes, which makes it a great setting for new OCs: add your character as a player and give them a reason to join.

Tips for a believable JJK OC

Weakness first. A technique with no cost reads as overpowered.
Tie the name to the power, the way Kugisaki ties to nails.
Use binding vows to explain sudden jumps in strength.
Avoid copying Infinity or Shrine. Fans spot reworked canon techniques fast.
