How to use the anime attack name generator
Pick a tab: attack, power, transformation, sword or weapon.
Choose an element and style. Shonen hype gives loud, big names; Elegant gives poetic sword arts.
Set a rank. Basic moves are short; Ultimate moves get longer names and a chant.
Generate and read the effect line. Keep the moves that fit your character’s power.
How anime attack names are built
Most attack names follow a simple formula: Element + Image + Action.
| Element | Image | Action | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thunder | Dragon | Fang | Thunder Dragon Fang |
| Frost | Lotus | Bloom | Frost Lotus Bloom |
| Shadow | Crow | Feather Rain | Shadow Crow Feather Rain |
| Flame | Phoenix | Wing Slash | Flame Phoenix Wing Slash |
The Japanese version usually packs the same idea into three or four kanji. Thunder Dragon Fang becomes 雷龍牙 (rai-ryu-ga). Short kanji names are why moves sound so sharp when characters shout them.

Anime technique name generator: secret arts and ultimates
Anime often ranks moves. The tool uses these common labels:
Hissatsu waza (必殺技): a “certain-kill” special move, the one a character is known for.
Ougi (奥義): a secret or inner technique of a school or clan.
Numbered forms: “First Form”, “Second Form”, used by sword schools.
Chants: ultimate moves may come with a short spoken line before the name.
Sample Ultimate output: Ougi: 天地返し Tenchi Gaeshi — Heaven-Earth Reversal. Effect: flips gravity inside a 10-metre circle for three seconds.
Anime power name generator and ability names
Powers are names for what a character can do, not a single attack. Good power names are one or two words: Gravity Weaver, Echo Sight, Blood Bind. The ability tab adds a limit to each power so it stays balanced, for example “Echo Sight: sees five seconds into the past of any room; costs the user’s hearing for a minute”.
Anime transformation name generator
Transformations get their own words in anime, and the tool rotates between them:
| Word | Feel | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Awakening (覚醒 kakusei) | power unlocked | Crimson Awakening |
| Release | a seal removed | Second Release: Ashen Wings |
| Mode | a switchable form | Storm Mode |
| Form | a stage of power | Final Form: Void Emperor |
| Armour / Gear | equipment-based | Thunder Gear |
Anime sword name generator and weapon names
Sword names usually have three parts: a poetic name, the blade type, and sometimes the smith. Real Japanese blade types include the katana, wakizashi, tanto, nodachi and odachi. Famous real smiths like Masamune and Muramasa gave anime its idea of legendary named swords.
Original examples from the tool:
月影 Tsukikage (“Moon Shadow”) — katana, silver-blue blade
紅蓮丸 Gurenmaru (“Crimson Lotus”) — odachi, burns what it cuts
静寂 Seijaku (“Silence”) — tanto, makes no sound when drawn
The weapon tab covers spears, scythes, bows, gauntlets and guns with the same naming style.

Tips for great move names
Say it out loud. If it is too long to shout mid-fight, cut a word.
Repeat a theme. A thunder fighter’s moves should all share thunder words.
Grow the names with the character. Early moves short, late moves grand.
Mix languages on purpose. English for clarity, Japanese for flavour.
